JEDDAH: A meeting organized by the Indo-Saudi Medical Forum (ISMF) was held recently at in the Indian consulate premises in Jeddah to stoke better bilateral cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia in the fields of medicine and health services.
Consul-general of India Faiz Ahmed Kidwai addressed the meeting which was attended by Saudi medical professionals as well as officials from the ministry of health besides senior Indian medical professionals.
The ISMF, a professional body formed in 2006, intends to create a suitable atmosphere for Indian and Saudi health sector professionals to explore ways and means to strengthen bilateral co-operation as envisaged in the Delhi Declaration of 2006 and the Riyadh Declaration of 2010 signed by the two nations.
Dr Nasser Hamud of the ministry of health, Dr Hussayn Dervish and Mohammed Ali were guests of honor at the event.
A committee of key members formed during the event comprised Dr Faissal Shaheen, founder-director of the Jeddah Kidney Center as president, Dr Karimudddin, senior pediatrician, Mohammad Alungal as vice-president and Dr Iqbal Musani as secretary.
Organizers of the event urged all Indian and Saudi medical professionals to join the forum and get in touch with the consulate at Jeddah for the purpose.
